The Passport is an identity document issued by a national Government attesting that the wearer is in a particular country and gives him permission to cross the border of a foreign country.
In Brazil, the national body which issues the passports for the Brazilians is the Federal Police (PF). To issue a new passport is necessary to make the request via the internet through the website of the federal police. It is also necessary to issue and pay the Union gathering (GRU), make the schedule for new Passport on the Department of Federal Police (DPF) and attend to the post with the original documentation required on the day and time of your appointment.
There is no renewal or extension of passport. If you already have a passport that is with term of validity expired or about to expire you will need to make a new passport and the process is the same except that you must take the old passport so they can check out otherwise pay a fine and the final value of the Passport will be doubled. It is not necessary to wait until the expiration of your current passport to request another. In some countries it is mandatory that the passport has more than 6 months of validity (see this post).

1-request new passport-Protocol and generation of GRU
Request to issue the passport through the website of the federal police. The link can be found in the Services menu, Passport, passport, passport issuance Request.

Have documents such as identity card, SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER, Title and old passport (if you have) because it will be needed when filling out the form.

Error page

2-scheduling
For scheduling is necessary to perform payment of the GRU. Only after the confirmation is that the system is released. In my case the day after the payment was already released.
The waiting time for a schedule varies according to the time of year and the part of the country. For some cities you do not need the prior scheduling. To confirm whether it is necessary or to schedule use the link https://www7.dpf.gov.br/sinpa/jsp/agenda/agendamento/paginaInicial.jsp.
Click Continue, the page below will be displayed.
Notify the SFC or the Protocol number, date of birth, the text of the image, and then click Continue. The page below will be displayed.
Select one of the existing points in the city chosen.
After confirming the date and time will display a page of "schedule Detailing". Click Print to generate the PDF of the page.

- The scheduled time is reserved for the care of one person only.
- Set to arrive at the service station 15 minutes before the scheduled time.
- Don't forget to bring all original documents. The relationship can be viewed on the DPF (www.dpf.gov.br).

Report to the DPF on the scheduled date and time with the original documentation required. In General, the common minimum documentation passport:
- Identity document (ID, the old passport, driver's license or work card)
- A registered voter and proof of vote last election (who didn't vote and not justified has to settle the situation in the registry and submit the certificate of Discharge.)
- Document attesting to discharge with compulsory military service (for men)
- Certificate of naturalization for naturalized
- Bank payment voucher of the Recoil of the Union concerning the due fee for issuing the travel document required
- Previous passport (if any)
- CPF
If you had the name changed because of marriage, separation or divorce shall submit, in addition to the identity card, original marriage certificate updated with the appropriate authorizations or notes. If you had the name changed by judicial decision shall provide, in addition to the identity card, original birth certificate updated with the appropriate authorizations or notes.
Take all the original documents. Check all the necessary documentation on the DPF.
Take the request protocol. It is not necessary to take photo as it will be collected at the time of service along with the prints. The service is usually pretty fast.
If you have a passport before he will be stamped on all pages with "canceled" and will be returned. If you have valid visas (as seen) this passport must be presented along with the new Passport on the next trip.
4-delivery of the Passport
The delivery of the Passport is, on average, 6 business days. It is delivered in person on presentation of identity document and signature of receipt. Find your Passport at the time and place indicated.
Attention: If the Passport is not withdrawn within 90 days from the confirmation of the order on the PF he will be cancelled.
